This week’s photo challenge is Solitary, and Cheri Lucas says “I love capturing a person in a quiet and often unexpected moment. These kinds of images can be reflective, mysterious, or even sad, conjuring strong emotions and stirring up stories in my head.” I was thinking don’t animals also experience solitary moments, not only our pets, but those in the wild, and in the zoos. Here are a few pictures I captured recently at the Bronx Zoo in New York. It is one of the world’s largest metropolitan zoos, with over 600 species from around the world. The zoo comprises 265 acres of park lands and naturalistic habitats, through which the Bronx River flows.
The other pictures will follow soon in another post.
Ailsa’s Travel theme: White is in honour of the International Day of Peace. She has posted some lovely whites – please check it out. Here are two pictures for the theme.
This week’s photo challenge Everyday Life is all about people and the things they do everyday. Here are some people going about their lives.
This man sells skirts and bags and offered to give me a skirt if I gave him a copy of this picture 🙂
He is selling Domino Pizzas – $5 a pie!
And, man’s best friend (or woman’s) going for a walk in the park – things they do everyday!
Jake’s Sunday Post is Autumn….it is too early to capture the fall colors here in New York City. The farmer’s markets are filled with root vegetables heralding the beginning of autumn, and we’ll have to wait for a few weeks before the leaves begin their drama and offer some spectacular sights. These pictures are from my backyard taken last year.
